[Then Grimmchild sees no issues with getting in his personal space and Hubert flinches back instinctively. He thankfully doesn't ready a spell or draw a knife or anything of the sort, but it does take him a moment to settle a bit.]

[He trails off there, looking from Grimm to Grimmchild, somewhere between confused and genuinely a bit embarrassed. He's not trying to upset the kid???]

No, forgive me, they are very friendly, and tend to show it through physical contact. Being as they do not speak yet...

[Well, he can see that they don't have arms and how else are they going to express themselves? Fair enough, though he certainly wasn't expecting such actions to be aimed at him. Hopefully this child has more self-preservation than it would seem at the moment.

He relaxes a bit more and then tentatively holds out a gloved hand. If Grimmchild wants to touch, then it at least needs to be on his terms.]

[There's something genuinely fascinating about watching Grimmchild bump into his hand like that, and even though Hubert isn't one to find things cute, he really can't think of a better word to describe this.

So he doesn't talk himself out of reaching out to pet Grimmchild again, even though this is hardly the sort of thing someone like him should be doing.]

They're very [cute] ...friendly.

[When Hubert starts petting them, Grimmchild starts to purr. All is well in the world now.]

Indeed they are. And filled with a curiousity about the world around them. If they were not effectively immortal, I might worry about the trouble they could get into.

Considering what little I know of children, immortality sounds like a blessing.

They have. Lunatia is far more alive than the land they come from, and they are endlessly delighted by such things as parks. And meeting as curious a species as humans, of course.

There's still much I have to learn about this world. Much of my time has been focused on dealing with... individuals from my home.

As I said, the effects haven't been nearly as bad as they are for some others.

You might have found Cordis more troubling, in my experience. The Cordis Moonblessed I know all show a marked tendency towards cuddling among their changes.
