[Danny steps inside, and immediately his interest turns towards examining Grimm's home in comparison to his own. Danny's own place is still extremely monochrome and lacking in mirrors (and now has a couch he needs to replace, thanks to Jyuto), so he can't help but be curious to know what Grimm has put together for his and Lobco's living space.

Maybe it'll even give him an idea of something he should add to his own apartment? Whatever the case, it's probably more nicer and welcoming than his place, so he can't help but stare a little.]

[I mean. Grimm is a man with an aesthetic, so it depends on whether you consider 'goth fire circus' to be welcoming, but it sure is more decorated than Danny's place.]

[... Somehow, Danny is not surprised by that. He'll take a seat on whatever chair or couch is available here while he waits for Grimm to join them with their tea.]

Your home is very interesting. It reminds me a lot of the circus set-up you had last month.

[Okay, hearing the words "wicked goth" coming out of Grimm's mouth actually gets a genuine laugh out of Danny, thank god he didn't take a sip of tea beforehand.]

I--yes, I suppose that is an accurate way to describe it, depending on how you look at it.

Actually, there's something I've been wanting to ask about you but didn't really have the opportunity to do so until now. I've spoken to a few of your friends that say that they know you from back home as well, and one of them mentioned that you were actually a "God" of some kind. Is that true?

It is.

[Spoken simply, as if he were confirming his height rather than his status as a higher being.]

I would prefer to be treated as you do anyone else, rather than you feel the need to stand on ceremony.

Oh I figured as much, but... I was still curious about it nonetheless. Gods walking among people isn't actually a very common thing, where I'm from. In fact, I wasn't even sure if God was even real, despite how some people would talk about them.

[... Unless you're someone like Gray who thinks of themselves as God but we're not getting into that here.]

Where I hail from, gods are unfortunately very real, and the consequences of their actions can be clearly felt.

[he's not fond.]

[Danny has certainly noticed.]

You don't sound like you like gods very much, despite being one yourself.

My fellow higher beings are prone to holding petty grudges and not caring how mortals are caught in the crossfire. There are exceptions, but I much prefer the company of mortals.

Ah, I see.

[There's a pause, and then--]

Despite what I said before about not believing in Gods back home, somehow that doesn't surprise me to hear you say that about them.

Gods can be cruel. It seems to be universal even where their existence is not widely known fact.

Are you alright, my friend?

... Huh?

[The question catches him off guard as he blinks at Grimm.]

Yes... ah, why do you ask?

[Did he accidentally give something away somehow?]

Those who have strong opinions on the cruelties of gods usually have them for a reason.

[Hmm.]

You need not say anything. But if you ever would like to vent - about anything - I will listen.

[Ah, so that was it. Danny considers it for a moment, and Grimm would be forgiven for thinking that Danny is dismissing the offer as he sips his tea, but then he speaks.]

Well... to be perfectly honest, I don't think I've ever been truly given a reason to believe that if a God existed back home, that they would be an exceptionally kind one. Even after knowing people who did believe in a God of some kind, I always thought it was just... an excuse I guess that people used to say and do certain things.

[Gray put himself in the position of God to satisfy his curiosity about how people behave. Rachel wanted a God as a justification for dying by any means other than using her own hands to do it.

... And maybe Danny did it too, on some level, trying to be something close enough to a God for Rachel to look up to, but that didn't work at all.]

There are kind people who follow cruel gods, and cruel people who claim to believe in kind ones.

[The citizens of Hallownest were capable of more goodness than the Pale King ever was.]

But if they did not use gods as a shield for their actions, they would use something else. Station, species, anything that seems to justify them doing what they wish to do at others' expense.

[Such people are universal.]

Mmm, indeed. I unfortunately know people like that too.

[Danny is one of those people, in fact.

But then Danny leans back with a sigh that sounds a tad too over-dramatic to be real.]

You know what, enough talking about Gods, they exhaust me thinking about them. There was actually another thing I was going to ask instead that is probably more interesting: I spoke to someone named Hornet on the network recently, and they also talked to me about you a little. Namely, that you had the ability to travel to different worlds somehow?

[That's a mood, for sure.]

I do. My duty requires such - I am called to dead and dying kingdoms to consume the remnants of anger and regret that cling to such places, so that the world may be reborn.

[doctorize]

... Ah. So I guess you don't really get to see interesting places that are not dead or in the process of dying.

[And also that makes Grimm's status of being here a bit more concerning...]

Are there any worlds you've seen that stuck out the most to you anyway? Aside from here, of course.

Prismatica is a bit of an unusual circumstance, as I was not called here the traditional way.

[So it's fine, probably.]

Really? That... sounds like a difficult sort of existence to have.

[Like how deep down the Benjamin Button hole are we talking here.]

Perhaps part of the reason that kingdom fell. An unsustainable existence.
