[Danny will pass along those orders for them, before they take a look around the cafe they are sitting in, reaching a hand up momentarily to steady Grimmchild's perch on his head as well as directly addressing them for a moment.]

Do you see any cats that you want to play with here?

[There are a lot of cats, all with curious and adorable names, but...]

They are comfortable where they are for the moment.

[Danny is probably going to get tired of Grimmchild's weight on his head eventually but for the time being, they are light enough that he can allow this.]

So then, how have the two of you been so far today?

[hagrides]

[Be nice to baby.]

We have been well, especially with your kind invitation. And yourself?

[doctorize]

I've been doing better, especially in comparison to last month.

[While his movements with his left arm are still limited and kind of jerky, it does at least seem like he's no longer dealing with nearly as much pain.]

[hagrides]

That is good. I hate to see you in pain, my dear friend.

[Grimmchild nuzzles the top of Danny's head. Feel better!]

[Oh, thank you Grimmchild. Danny will use his good hand to pet the good baby a little.]

I don't like being in pain either, so I'm glad that it's getting better.

[hagrides]

[Grimmchild starts to purr.]

What about you? Do any of the cats here catch your eye?

Oh, gosh... I'm not sure. They're all very cute. It's hard to really choose one to admire over another... what about you? Is there one that you see of interest?

[hagrides]

I am running into the same quandary. They are all simply irresistable.

[doctorize]

Well we have to start somewhere I suppose, so... oh, look at this one.

[He points out "eclaws act two", the Egyptian cat.]

It looks like this one doesn't have any fur... have you ever seen a cat like it before?

[hagrides]

I have not, though admittedly I have not seen all that many cats to begin with.

[It's cute though!]

Oh, I guess cats wouldn't be that common where you're from...?

[What with... all the bugs.]

[hagrides]

There are none in Hallownest. I have only encountered them in Lunatia thus far.

[He asked someone what a horse was the other day.]

Ah, I figured as much. Maybe we can see if we can get one to come closer to us?

[What is it like to pet a hairless cat? Danny... doesn't really know how to gesture to get a cat to come near him, but he certainly tries with wiggling his fingers a little here to see if it or any of the other cats will come over to them.]

[Grimm wiggles his fingers in imitation of Danny, because Danny is clearly the cat expert here.

One dark-haired cat wanders in their direction to sniff Danny's hand. Hello, strange big hairless cat.]

[Well, it's not the cat he was trying to entice over, but it'll do. He lets the cat sniff his hand until it seems satisfied enough to let Danny try to pet it as gently as possible, and indeed, it's fur is pleasantly soft to the touch. After a moment, he turns his attention back to Grimm.]

What do you think of this one?

[Grimm also pets the cat, just as gently. It meows, confused about the weird texture of these pettings, but doesn't pull away.]

It is adorable.

[It is pretty cute, Danny can see that. For a moment, he suddenly thinks of Eddie, and Rachel, who would have probably found this cat adorable as well...]

... You know, most of the time I'm glad that some people I know are not in this world, because they are far too young to be dealing with certain things here. But at times like this, I regret that they are unable to indulge in the nicer things like this.

I understand the feeling, I believe.

[The Knight and the Hollow Knight have unique issues regarding the intimacy of moonlacing - but them being here means that they can have a break from fighting and pain.

He thinks of Brumm, shy to a fault, and wishes he could hear the music of this place.]

We shall have to appreciate them in their stead.

Mm, I suppose so.

[A thought that comes to mind is that simply appreciating it isn't enough, he should have been doing more even now in regards to Rachel in particular, but he pushes that thought back away as far as he can for now.

Instead, he turns his attention to Grimmchild sitting on his head.]

Did you want to try petting this one too?

[Grimmchild meows their agreement and flaps down to the cat's level. They don't have hands to pet with, so they end up nuzzling the cat with their face.

The cat nuzzles back. Grimm pulls out his phone to take pictures.]

[Okay that gets an amused chuckle out of Danny here.]

You'll have to send me any pictures you take later.

[... Because Danny is still learning how to use his stupid cellphone, he's just getting the hang of texting privately outside of the network let alone taking pictures.]

Of course I shall. Rest assured that you will have plenty of photographs of my child being cute.

[If he had a wallet it would be overflowing with them.]

[Grimm is definitely someone who gives off that kind of dad vibe, it's true.]

Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if your phone was filled to the brim of hundreds of photos of them being cute.
