I'm not sure but Hollow Knight is still figuring out a lot of very important things about themselves. I feel like dumping such serious feelings on them right now wouldn't be very considerate and might even make them feel pressured?

Perhaps I'm not giving them enough credit but...I just really, really want to avoid that scenario.

[Danny really should have texted a lot sooner than he's finally doing now, given that he said he would come over for tea... two weeks ago, and not only didn't show up, but didn't send a message explaining why he didn't show up.
In his defense, he did have a bit of a situation on his hands, but once he's no longer thinking about Jyuto, or even Gray showing up in his life again, does he remember Grimm, and realizes that he actually feels some amount of guilt for having stood them up. Not surprised at himself for having done so, but nonetheless unable to let the feeling be compartmentalized as yet another tick in the box listing off all of the things wrong with him as a person and then moving on to making the next mistake of his life. The least he can do is apologize before doing such a thing this time.]
[Grimm, for his part, feels... disappointment when it beomes apparent that Danny will not be visiting for tea. He would have preferred for Danny to decline outright, rather than say he'll visit instead and then never show.

[In about 20 minutes, like Danny said, there will be a tentative knock on Grimm's door signaling Danny's arrival. He shuffles back and forth a bit in the same spot, but his smile at least doesn't seem too plastic in comparison to some of his past attempts at it that Grimm has seen.]

[Danny steps inside, and immediately his interest turns towards examining Grimm's home in comparison to his own. Danny's own place is still extremely monochrome and lacking in mirrors (and now has a couch he needs to replace, thanks to Jyuto), so he can't help but be curious to know what Grimm has put together for his and Lobco's living space.
Maybe it'll even give him an idea of something he should add to his own apartment? Whatever the case, it's probably more nicer and welcoming than his place, so he can't help but stare a little.]
[I mean. Grimm is a man with an aesthetic, so it depends on whether you consider 'goth fire circus' to be welcoming, but it sure is more decorated than Danny's place.]
[... Somehow, Danny is not surprised by that. He'll take a seat on whatever chair or couch is available here while he waits for Grimm to join them with their tea.]
Your home is very interesting. It reminds me a lot of the circus set-up you had last month.
